#PassafireEuro15 Journal – July 30, 2015

We’re more than halfway through our European tour… What a trip it’s been thus far!  Our show count is now up to 39.  Below are some of our highlights since the last update:

  • -visiting Italy for the first time
  • -paddle boarding on Lake Garda in Italy
  • -eating amazing Italian food
  • -enjoying the “Bella vita” lifestyle and hospitality of Italy
  • -can you tell that we really enjoyed Italy?!
  • -playing and experiencing the madness that is Fusion Fest in Lärz, Germany
  • -visiting Switzerland for the first time
  • -learning how expensive Switzerland is (i.e. $12 for a triple whopper… No fries or drink included)
  • -squeezing in some recording in the studio
  • -surviving 4 shows in 3 days in 3 countries… a.k.a The European Tour Gauntlet (Italy >> Czech Republic >> double header in Germany on July 4th)
  • -spending 4 days off in Berlin
  • -rocking the sh** out of a folk festival in Ingelheim, Germany
  • -relaxing on Lake Constance – Bodensee… the Tri-point between Germany, Switzerland, & Austria
We’ve been very fortunate to be a part of some major fests here.  Fusion Fest in Lärz, Germany was massive!  It was easily the biggest fest we’ve ever been a part of, with 21 stages and 271 bands/artists.  Mighty Sounds Fest in Czech Republic was the biggest rock fest we’ve played in Europe, playing alongside other American bands like Versus The World, Strung Out, & Sick Of It All.  SummerJam Fest in Köln is Germany’s biggest reggae festival, featuring bands such as Damian Marley, Wyclef Jean, Steel Pulse, SOJA, Groundation, The Skints, Katchafire, & Xavier Rudd.
Our crowd response has continued to surprise us with all the support they’ve given us.  Europe has been good to us, but we definitely miss everyone back in the states.  Don’t worry, we haven’t forgotten about you!
